Hethersett SC (A) 2 July

On Wednesday 2nd July Priory went to Hethersett Social Club for a return match, which I'm sure that they were up for revenge after losing at the Priory.

The weather forecast was showers, but by the time the game was scheduled to start, the weather turned out fine, at the last minute we managed to get a full squad of 12 players.

When we saw the 4 rinks set up length-ways, I knew it might be challenge for our players, compared to the Priory's shorter green, but, challenge accepted.

Rink 1, John A, Bet and John M won their game 19-16,well done to them.

Rink 2, Billie, Di and Melvyn won 7 of the 16 ends, but the length of the cot was the challenge, Hethersett came out winning 17-12.

Rink 3, Howard, Bob and Ivan H also came up with the Hethersett triple putting in long cots, which is a challenge for any player, unfortunately losing 31-2.

Rink 4,Sue B, Arthur and Mike B won 8 of the 16 ends, with the Priory pulling back 3x1s and a 2 on the last 3 ends, but, Hethersett came out winning 16-13.

Overall Score was Hethersett 80 shots to Priory 46.

After the game, all went over to the Social Club for chips and sandwiches.

I will say that all games were played in a well spirited manner and I thank all players for this.

We will put this loss behind us and go forward to the next game.

Melvyn.
