Wym. Dell (H) 6th Aug

On Wednesday 6th August the Priory Garden Bowls Club entertained the Wymondham Dell at home. Again, struggling to get a full team of 12 players, had to resort to 9 players (3 Triples).

Rink1,  Arthur, Karen and Ivan H. After 6 ends were 7-4 in front, on the 9th end Wymondham Dell brought it back to 8-8, after that a spirited 4 shots to the Priory and then 4 shots 4 shots to the Dell, the opposition slowly increased their lead to winning 17 shots to the Priory 15.

Rink 2,  Billie, Sandy and Melvyn, up until the 13th end it was Priory winning 10-8, but the last 3 ends, even when the Priory were holding shot, the Dell skip done the damage to get 3 shots over the last 3 ends, to the Dell winning 11-10.

Rink 3,  John A, Phil and John M, again it was a very nip and tuck game all the way until the 12th end, but the Priory triple came back with a 4, 2 and 2 on the last 4 ends to give them a win with the Priory 16 shots to the Dell 15 shots.

Considering the makeup of the Dell triples, who were all very good players, it didn't deter the Priory triples who fought hard to get the results we did.

The final result was Priory 41 shots to the Dell 43 shots, only losing by 2 shots, considering the strength of the opposition personally I would consider that a win for the Priory, so well done all who played.

On finishing a big thank you to Liz for who volunteered to do the refreshments.
