Thorpe Rec. (A) 17th June

The Priory Garden team started the match hoping to achieve their first double of the season after narrowly beating their hosts in the reverse fixture a fortnight earlier. However it was not to be and the match was lost by an overall score of Priory Garden twenty shots, Thorpe Rec. thirty one shots.

Pat Goody, Karen Smith and Ivan Howman were beaten by twenty shots to ten shots. After being only two shots behind after the sixth end, they held five shots on the seventh end only for the opposing skip to convert this into a two shot deficit with her last bowl of the end. After this they struggled to control the heads. They made a slight comeback towards the end of the contest but it was not enough to catch their hosts.

On the other rink, Baz (Barry Wintle), Mike Attwell and Di Gibbins contested a tight match but trailed from the start. A determined late comeback was made and going into the last end only two shots were required to win but unfortunately they lost the end by one shot.

Match score - Priory Garden twenty shots, Thorpe Rec. thirty one shots.
