Hingham (H) 19th May
Following a 4 - 2 match win for the Priory side in last week's reverse fixture both clubs put out different teams for today's match with the changes proving fruitful for the visitors.
Having won the toss Hingham Rectory took the jack and control of the early ends on both rinks on a green which was running very fast.
On Rink One the Priory Garden side were nine shots behind by the halfway stage. Although they narrowed the deficit to one shot by the twelfth end they could not maintain their comeback and eventually lost by ten shots to eighteen shots.
It was a similar story on Rink Two where the home side went behind early on in the match, trailing by seven shots after the first six ends. They pulled the score back to within two shots of their opponents but, as on Rink One, were unable to maintain their comeback and eventually lost by ten shots to seventeen shots.
The overall match result was Priory Garden twenty shots, Hingham Rectory thirty five shots.
On the plus side, the match was enjoyed by all involved on a warm sunny afternoon which at times offered a gentle breeze.
