Gaymers (H) 2nd May

After an absence of many years the Priory Garden team returned to the AGE Concern League and recorded a four points to two points match win against Gaymers.

It was a very close game on Rink One with both sides winning eight ends and the lead changing from one side to the other throughout the contest. The fast green caused problems for some players with several woods, especially delivered by the home side, coming to rest in the ditch. The home side scored three or more shots on four ends but this was counteracted by the visitors who scored a four and a five. Gaymers squeezed a one shot victory by scoring two shots on the last end. The end result was Priory Garden eighteen shots, Gaymers nineteen shots.

On Rink two the home side won seven of the their first eleven ends and went into a nine shot lead. Although they then lost four of the remaining five ends they held on to win by fifteen shots to nine shots.

Overall the match was a win for the home team with an overall match score of Priory Garden thirty three shots, Gaymers twenty eight shots.
