Cringleford (A) 1st Aug

Following a narrow defeat in their previous match it was good to round off the season with a six point win. Especially against a Cringleford side that had beaten the Priory Garden team earlier in the season.

On Rink 1 (aka Rink 3) Ivan Freedman, Karen Smith and Ivan Howman started by narrowly winning the first five ends and led by seven shots to nil before the home side pulled backed two shots on the sixth end. The Priory team halted the hosts comeback and won seven of the remaining ten ends. The final score being Cringleford seven shots, Priory Garden sixteen shots.

On Rink 2 (aka Rink 4) a slightly different story unfolded. After five ends, Derrick Kemp, John Austin and Mike Attwell were drawing, five shots all. They then pulled away from their hosts, winning nine of the remaining eleven ends. The final score being Cringleford six shots, Priory Garden twenty one shots.

The overall match score was Cringleford thirteen shots, Priory Garden thirty seven shots. Winning both Rinks and the match secured six points and resulted in the Priory Garden side winning half of their matches in their first season back in the AGE Concern League after a long absence.
