WELCOME

You have reached the website of The Priory Garden Bowls Club in Wymondham Norfolk.  We are a keen bunch of  bowlers who play friendly but competitive bowls outdoors during the summer months. As well as regular afternoon roll-ups for the membership, we also have two in-house leagues, frequent competitions and several home and away 'Friendly Matches' with other clubs in the local area.

WHO ARE WE AND WHERE ARE WE TO BE FOUND

In 1961 a long-standing and retiring GP and Councillor of the area founded the Priory Garden Bowls Club for the benefit of the retired and elderly of his working area which covered Wymondham and over 20 surrounding villages. In recent years this has been extended to include those living outside the specified area.

The Club is to be found in central Wymondham within the public Priory Garden in Middleton Street. Details of how to find us are shown in the 'Contact' section of this site.

Sixty years on, the Club has been brought into the 21st. century by the membership having  raised funds for the building of a new clubhouse and equipment shed which were completed in time for the start of the 2012 season.

We continue to have a healthy membership and are always pleased to welcome new members or guests.  If you are passing, and we are open, please come in and sit and watch or just have a chat, you will not disturb our game.  If you have never played and fancy a go, just ask and we will get you started. We are a very friendly and welcoming club and if you see people cutting the grass weeding, painting etc., they are all members who will be pleased to stop & chat. That is the kind of club we are.
